Sanctity of Human Life Memorial Gathering

Rochester, NY

Kenneth B. Keating Federal Building & Planned Parenthood

Today, 17 repentant saints joined with Rescue Rochester to remember the slaughter that the Roe vs. Wade U.S Supreme Court decision has enabled since 1973. Since that infamous date, nearly 50 million children have been brutally slain and scores of women and men have been wounded by their personal abortion decision. Since 1973, our nation has suffered under the spell of a culture of death that has lead to a coarsening of our national life. Now the weak, the disabled and the unborn find themselves in the cross hairs of a government enabled death industry. We gathered at The Kenneth B. Keating (KBK) Federal Building then walked to Planned Parenthood.

In front of the KBK Federal Building, we gathered around a wooden cross and recounted the role Christianity played in the establishment of our nation. We reviewed how the scriptures laid the foundation upon which the liberties and prosperity we enjoy were built. We quoted our founders, read scriptures and prayed. The cross of Christianity is the root from which our liberties and governmental institutions were birthed. The Providential Protection of Jesus Christ saw this nation through many harrowing and trying times. We then honored the memory of William Wilberforce and the role this Christian statesman played in the abolition of the slave trade in Great Britain.

Leaving the Cross and Christianity has led our nation to an unenviable place of trying to excuse the slaughter of 50 million unborn children. We now labor under the sin of bloodguilt and the God that was once our protector and provider has begun to oppose us.

We left The KBK Federal Building and walked the 7/10 of a mile to Planned Parenthood to lay a spray of roses in memory of the 50 million children’s deaths that Roe has enabled. It was a providential walk with two mounted patrolmen and a cruiser handling traffic control. After prayer meeting outside Planned Parenthood and placing of the roses, Jerry and I went to thank these public servants. One gave us an amazing testimony.

After we tried to thank them, he said-“No, I want to thank you!” He is now the father of a 23 year old and a seven year old little girl. But it was seven years ago that he and his wife found out they were pregnant with a surprise baby. Being that his wife was 43, they were unsure of wanting to start over again with a new baby.  They scheduled an abortion appointment and with heavy hearts drove to the clinic. When they pulled up they saw us there with signs and kept on driving. He said his little daughter is the light of their lives. He could not imagine not having her. He said, thank-you for what you do, keep it up and never think it is not worth it. When you are cold or tired don’t give up because what you are doing is very important. Thank-you, he then stated he and his wife have never told anyone this story. Through some tears I shook his hand and thanked him for his testimony.

So saints keep being the salt and light of Jesus Christ where you are planted.

Respectfully Submitted,
