Mission Report OSA Charlotte 2010

Rescue those being led away to death

OSA REPORT - CHARLOTTE, NC JULY 17-24, 2010

We delivered the mail. Many children and moms were rescued; the WORD was preached without compromise and with power; and an “abortion free” Presbyterian Hospital was exposed for providing cover for two doctors who kill at another facility. Two of the more memorable testimonies follow.

On Saturday, the first day of the event, Pastor Ronnie Wallace was arrested for being on a ladder (on public property), pleading with those going in to change their minds. The ladder was to get above the newly erected stockade fence around the abortion clinic *Note - this had not been a problem until this week. On Tuesday Ronnie borrowed a ladder (his was confiscated as evidence) and climbed a tree that allowed him to again speak over the fence. Neither the police nor fire department could get him to come down until he was good and ready! Later that day, just about dusk, there was a loud pop from the transformer carrying the power to that section of the city. Shortly after a couple more pops and the top of the telephone pole caught fire. It reportedly fried the wiring system for the abortion clinic, and in fact, they did not open again that week. Ronnie decided it was OK to come down, and casually walked away. God bless him.

That same day at another abortion clinic the business was brisk with little visible results from our presence. During a break at a nearby McDonalds one of the counselors recognized a man with a little girl who had brought someone in to the clinic. They lovingly but firmly began to plead the case for the unborn baby about to be killed. After a while the man was quite concerned about what he was doing. His resolve was broken as his little girl, on seeing one of the pictures of an aborted baby continually repeated “baby broke - baby broke.” He sent a text message to her, who also was having second thoughts, but was already in a gown and in a waiting area. She didn’t think they would let her leave. Having done all we could the rest was in God’s hands as they prayed with even more fervency. Then the miracle happened - the text sent out said that she was 14 weeks along, not 12, and they wanted more money. He immediately went to get her and his still alive unborn child.

And then there was Amanda with little 4 week old Victoria. At the rally on Wednesday she told the story of how she went to the abortion clinic three times (about 9 months ago) but each time there were people out there! She never talked with anyone, she just couldn’t go in with those people there. We took an offering (over $2,000) for her to help her get started on a new life. The Pastor will oversee her progress and disposition the money.

We return victorious; bitten (fire ants), sick, a ticket for preaching too loud, some late, but all victorious! Thank you for sending us and especially for prayer. God bless you!

Respectfully submitted,
Jerry & Terry

OSA Charlotte July 17-24, 2010

I’m writing while still on the road after the OSA Charlotte event. Our plan is to take another week to get home; spending some time with Jeannie’s mom in Florida and visiting with Stephen and Jessica in Virginia. Jean and I send thanks to all of you who prayed or who gave mission gifts for our participation in the OSA Charlotte event. God dealt with the city of Charlotte but also with all who attended this event. Each year our outreach starts out with a season of repentance and prayer-A Solemn Assembly. Sunday night, we were called to repentance over the sin of bloodguilt. This sin so pollutes and defiles that God said when a land is stained from the continual shedding of innocent blood the people of that nation that participates or neglects to deal with the sin WILL be vomited out of the land. Pastor Mark Hollick had us point to him and declare, “Pastor Mark you are guilty!”, emphasizing the truth that the sin of bloodguilt must be addressed by ministers called by God. French author, Alexis de Tocqueville, wrote in 1835 of the importance of America’s Christian ministers and religion as he searched for the greatness of America. “America is great because America is good, if America ceases to be good she will cease to be great”….he also declared that the source of America’s goodness “were pulpits aflame with righteousness.” Let us not grow weary in doing what’s right. Chet Gallagher led us in repentance over forsaking our godly heritage. Befriending the idols of our day does just that- cause us to forsake our heritage and single hearted relationship with Jesus; thus blocking our ability to see the Lord and easily discern his purposes. “Little children keep your self from idols.” Brother Ante led us in repentance in returning to God’s Law. The target that so often sows compromise in our homes that undermines holy thinking and living was the television and indiscriminate viewing. Through this medium we invite people and actions into our homes that we would never tolerate in real life. And this was the beginning of the week! Repentance and holiness; these truly are the foundations for real revival in our personal lives, our churches and eventually in our nation.

During the week of activities, Rescue Rochester was assigned to The Presbyterian Hospital where Dr. Flood and Dr. Harris two ob/gyns practice. These doctors also perform abortions at the Hebron Abortion Clinic. We were assigned to expose their part-time work at a local abortion clinic while they delivered babies and cared for patients at this hospital. This callous practice reveals the dangerous state of modern medicine and morals. Without an absolute standard of truth any action can be rationalized. It was here that I got my ticket for violating a sound ordinance. But that’s another story. Thursday AM we had the privilege of memorializing baby Joel and honoring this little one with a moving service in the public square of downtown Charlotte. Julianne was chosen to be a flag bearer as we processed 3 city blocks with a bagpiper to the memorial site-her flag declared, “Justice for the Unborn”.

In an amazing display of God’s power and answer to simple obedience- the Hebron Clinic was shut down by His hand. Pastor Ronnie Wallace is a local preacher, a retired military man and an obedient servant of God. Saturday July 17th, he was arrested for preaching at the Hebron clinic and calling to moms and dads to choose life. His ladder, which he used to speak over a barrier fence at the clinic, was confiscated. The next day the clinic was open this 69 year old preacher who is diabetic and has a bum knee, climbed a tree to speak to the moms and dads. This incited the escorts and the police, but he just climbed higher and declared he was not coming down! He actually said, “I’m NOT Zacchaeus and I’m not coming out of this tree!” After the fire department left and the police supposedly left, Pastor Ronnie prepared to stay in the tree for the long haul with a mattress and water and a group to support him. Just 6 hours later, the power pole and transformer supplying the clinic burst into flames, burning the supply lines to this killing center. This closed the clinic for the remaining days of the week we were in town! In another intervention, sidewalk counselors spotted a dad in a nearby McDonalds after he had dropped his pregnant girlfriend at the local abortion clinic. As they talked, he became more convinced of the need to go and get his girlfriend and their baby.  He was broken before God. He received a text from his girlfriend that the abortionist wanted more money, this opened a door for him to go and rescue both from that killing center. That baby was saved. At an evening rally during the week, we met a young mother Amanda and baby Victoria. Amanda saw the graphic Malachi signs at the clinic each time she attempted to go and kill her child. Every time she went there were Christians present. Every time! Her heart was changed. Victoria was born. At this service, a special offering was collected to help Amanda and baby find a stable place to live.

Please pray for Patrick a homeless lost soul we befriended in Charlotte. He still calls. We adopted him for a day and night. After an outreach and lunch we prayed over him and encouraged him to just yield himself to Jesus and plug into the Christian shelter ministry.  There are other stories to tell and you can read about them in greater detail at

www.Operationsaveamerica.org.

Remember, September 4th at 2:00 PM is the Rescue Rochester picnic at our house. RSVP by September 2.  We will help you choose a dish to pass.  We remain.

Yours for the Least of these,
